The Create Place is a social enterprise managed by St Margaret’s House, the community charity in which we are housed. We are proud to be not-for-profit and committed to supporting the local community. Every penny profit we make goes directly back into the project to provide subsidised use of the space, free activities, drop-in sessions and programmes for residents of Tower Hamlets. Our aim is to be 100% self sufficient so every time you get involved or make a donation, you are bringing us one step closer to our goal.
Our aim is simple: to be a space for the community to utilise, encouraging people from different cultures and backgrounds to come together in a comfortable and welcoming environment. A space where people can share and learn from one another and a place in which projects thrive because the community values them.
If you have an idea for a project which benefits the community please get in touch to see if we can help.
The Team
The drop-in sessions would not run without the support of St Margaret’s House volunteers. Their hard work, effort and commitment are recognised, rewarded and valued in The Create Place. If you would like to use the workshop for almost any type of project get in touch with the Community Coordinator at thecreateplace@stmargaretshouse.org.uk.
The Environment
We have a strong environmental ethic at The Create Place and source as much of our materials second hand as possible. During our workshops we place an emphasis on recycling and up cycling old and unwanted items into new items. We work closely with Ayoka Charity Boutique to recycle unsellable items.
Did you know we are all from the same St Margaret’s Family?
