Maggie’s Soapbox is a brand new event brought to you by The Create Place at St Margaret’s House.
This monthly event will take place every last Thursday of the month.
Maggie’s Soapbox is an evening of presentations. It will involve short talks accompanied by digital slide presentations. Talks last 6 minutes consisting of 20 powerpoint slides each lasting 20 seconds.
Maggie’s Soapbox is intended to be a night of fun and entertainment with beers and wine available and maybe even a little cake. The presenters simply step up from the audience and when the presentation is over they re-join the audience to share the enjoyment of the evening.
The presenters are volunteers, people wanting to tell the world about their particular passions or just wanting to inspire others. This could include you, if you think you have a topic you would like to share then get in contact with us to book yourself onto the event. Or even if you just want to come along and enjoy the presentations from the audience. You can talk about anything you want as long as you follow the rules.
The Rules
- No sales pitches
- 20 slides must be used
- Each slide must last exactly 20 secs
- After 6 minutes the presentation is over

Entry of £3.00 on the night. No tickets are required so just come along and pay on the door.
We will kick off at 8pm so please arrive by 7.30 to get a seat.
