The next Soapbox will be on
Thursday 20th June 2013
Maggie’s Soapbox is back for a one-off Refugee Week special. Come along for an evening of interesting and intriguing talks and help to raise money for the Phoenix Project, a refugee women’s support group who meet at the Create Place. We will be serving hot drinks, cakes and snacks, and alcohol drinks. Please email Terri at firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to give a talk. Entry is £3.50 or free if you present.
Maggie’s Soapbox is an evening of presentations. It will involve short talks accompanied by digital slide presentations. Talks last 6 minutes consisting of 20 powerpoint slides each lasting 20 seconds.
Maggie’s Soapbox is intended to be a night of fun and entertainment with beers and wine available and maybe even a little cake. The presenters simply step up from the audience and when the presentation is over they re-join the audience to share the enjoyment of the evening.
The presenters are volunteers, people wanting to tell the world about their particular passions or just wanting to inspire others. This could include you, if you think you have a topic you would like to share then get in contact with us to book yourself onto the event. Or even if you just want to come along and enjoy the presentations from the audience. You can talk about anything you want as long as you follow the rules.
